Sites announced for 2010 Euro Club Championships

Brno, Czech Republic and Rotterdam, Netherlands were chosen to host the first round that will take place the first week of June.

 

FRANKFURT, GERMANY--The President of the European Baseball Confederation (CEB) announced the locations of the first round of the 2010 European Club Championship: Brno and Rotterdam will each host a grouping of 6 teams (pairings to be decided in Frankfurt, Germany on 14 November).  Door Netpunus of Rotterdam and Draci Brno will be the chief organizing entities responsible for the first round event.

After a round robin, the top two teams in each division will move on to the Final Four in Barcelona, Spain.  The Final Four is scheduled for September 25th and 26th, 2010.

The IBL will have 3 representatives at the European Club Championships: Italy's Fortitudo Bologna and Telemarket Rimini and Republic of San Marino's T&A San Marino.  The 2009 champions Danesi Nettuno didn't qualify to defend its title.  IBL's will also be on hand for the European Club Champion

Spain: Marlins Puerto Cruz and Sant Boi Barcellona

France: Rouen Huskies and Savigny Lions

Belgium: Hoboken Pioneers

Germany: Heidenheim Heidekoepfe

Czech Republic: Draci Brno
